Celebrate Mezcal Day and learn about Del Maguey’s sustainability initiatives!

Learn all about Imagen TV’s coverage of sustainability efforts in the mezcal industry with Del Maguey.

Last September, Del Maguey team welcomed Grupo Imagen TV to cover our sustainability efforts in mezcal production in Oaxaca.

During their visit to Santa Catarina Minas, one of the palenques we collaborate with, they were able to see first-hand our processes that maximize the reuse of waste, such as bagasse (solid waste) and vinasse (liquid waste), transforming them into valuable resources to minimize environmental impact.

Collaboration with communities and sustainable development

Del Maguey has worked closely with all of its communities in Oaxaca, including Santa Catarina Minas, Santa María Albarradas, Las Milpas, San Luis del Río, San Baltazar Chichicápam, Teotitlán del Valle, and Santo Domingo Albarradas. Our goal has been to address the unique challenges each faces and develop sustainable solutions that preserve mezcal traditions while caring for the land and its natural resources.

Featured Project: Sustainable Eco-Blocks

One of the most important projects is the collaboration with COAA (Consultorio de Asesoría Arquitectónica), with whom they are transforming mezcal byproducts into eco-blocks, offering communities an environmentally friendly construction alternative. This project reflects the commitment to innovation and sustainability.

We thank the Mexican Mezcal Quality Regulatory Council and our allies at Mezcal Amarás and Grupo Danzantes for their support in making this coverage possible. In addition, Del Maguey reiterates its gratitude to Grupo Imagen Multimedia for their visit and for helping to make visible the efforts to minimize the environmental impact and honor the legacy of mezcal.

We invite you to read the Imagen TV reports to immerse yourself in the world of mezcal and learn about the sustainable practices we are implementing.
